License Plate and Frame Security Kits

for BMW and Mini vehicles

Your car is vulnerable to identiy theft too! Protect it with one of our Plate Keeper™ kits.

The Plate Keeper™
- Four Security Screws
- Installation Tool
- Instructions

BMW owners:

Most of these vehicles will require a 16mm long screw (about 5/8"), especially if a license plate frame is in use. Some BMWs require a 12mm long screw (about 1/2") to prevent the screw from hitting the painted metal behind the license plate holder. You should check the length of screw your car needs before ordering. We have both lengths available.

Some states or provinces require a license plate on both the front and rear of the vehicle. If you live in one of these areas, check one screw on the front and one on the rear to make sure they are the same size and style. If they are not, you will need to determine the size and style needed for each plate. Then, contact us and we can make sure you get the correct screws for your vehicle.

We can supply different screw sizes, styles and lengths if needed.

MINI vehicle owners:
If you live in an area where a front and rear plate are required,, your front plate is most likely mounted using a sheet metal type screw into the bumper. We can supply a special kit for you with 2 sheet metal screws for the front and 2 metric screws for the rear. Contact us to order the kit you need.

Scroll down to see how to measure your screws and avoid getting the wrong kit!

The head of our security screws is unique and difficult to remove without the included tool.

Here is how to check what size and type of screws you need for your vehicle:

1. If your state requires front and rear plates, first check to see if the
screws on front and back are the same type and length.
2. Measure the length of the screws you need. Measure the threaded portion of the
screws only, from the bottom of the screw head to the tip of the screw.
3. If your current screws have a sharp point on the threaded end, and coarse
threads, they are most likely sheet metal type screws.
If your current screws have a flat tip on the threaded end, and relatively fine
threads, they are most likely machine type screws.
It is often the case that the front screws are of one type and the rears are of
another type. No problem, just make a note of which screw goes on each end of the
vehicle.
4. Now use a ruler and measure the diameter of the threaded portion of the screw.
Be as accurate as you can as there is often not much difference between screws sizes.
5. Note the quantity of each type of screw you need, and send it to us.
